In November of 2014, Aubree heard about Veterans being transported on air medical flights to their homes when they became too ill to be transported on a normal plane.  Wanting to help these Veterans, Aubree and her mom decided to go to the fabric store to buy enough fabric to make four blankets.  Aubree's mom posted a picture of Aubree on her Facebook wall asking for donations to make more blankets.  The next morning, people started to make donations, and Aubree had friends and family members help her make more blankets.  Word of Aubree's work spread, and in January of 2015, she received an Action Grant from Thrivent Financial which allowed her to hold her very first blanket-making event.
